There is more communication of all kinds in our time than ever before, but the proportion that is bullshit may not have increased...Bullshit is unavoidable whenever circumstances require someone to talk without knowing what he is talking about. Thus the production of bullshit is stimulated whenever a person's obligations or opportunities to speak about some topic exceed his knowledge of the facts that are relevant to that topic. This discrepancy is common in public life, where people are frequently impelled -- whether by their own propensities or the demands of others -- to speak extensively about matters of which they are to some degree ignorant..."

That reminds me one good response to those who BS a lot: "It's okay to just say you don't know" Usually, they will get the hint and shut up.
But of course, you have to judge to whom you are speaking, under what circumstances, and the anticipated consequences.
對呢,廢話到處都是,情況有時亦與爛笑話一樣,最怕有些人說完打算讓人發笑,而事實卻一點也不好笑。
